Pasquale Malipiero was the 66th Doge of the Serenissima (1457-1462).

He was 65 years old (he was born in 1392), and was procurator of S. Marco de ultra, although he had had no great past nor any particular merits, apart perhaps from having been among the most ardent against Francesco Foscari.

His lineage was however believed to be very ancient, derived perhaps from Pilemene, king of Paflagonia, who came to Italy from Troy with Antenore.

Of his dogado it is noted that he was the first to wear silk clothes, while his wife, Giovanna Dandolo, started lace-making, an activity later turned into a real industry by Morosina Morosini.
