Pasquale Cicogna was the 88th doge of the Serenissima (1585-1595).

He was 76 years old (he was born on 27 May 1509) and was a man of great experience and prestige, well liked by the people and the military.

He had obtained merits by fighting against pirates, had governed Padua, Treviso, Corfu and Candia, was devout and very attached to the Church of the Cruciferous, and was considered a saint.

From 24 December 1583 he was procurator of S. Marco de citra.
