Angelo Partecipazio was the 10th Doge of the Serenissima (810-827).

Partecipazio, Angelo, or Agnello, a tribune of Rialto and a wealthy landowner of Eraclea, was chosen as Doge for being the real protagonist of the defence against Pepin's attempt to invade the Lagoon.It seems that he suggested moving the government from Malamocco to the inland, safer area of Rivoalto (later Rialto), where, next to the Church of St. Theodore, he had the Doge's Castle (later the Doge's Palace) built.He was also responsible for the idea of bringing St Mark's body to Venice.Unified politically, under Angelo, the city-state began to structure itself territorially, through land recl
