He belonged to the Donà delle Tresse branch and was 79 years old, having been born on 28 January 1539.
He was a miser and at his election there was general discontent so he was not shouted the usual cheers.
He was doge for only a month and on his death he was buried in the Church of S. Chiara (Murano), which was demolished in 1810, then sold (1826) and used as a glassworks. The remains of the doge dispersed.
