Ludovico Manin was the 120th doge of the Serenissima (9 March 1789 - 12 May 1797).

He was 63 years old (he was born on 26 June 1726 to Lodovico Alvise and Maria Basadonna).

He had been captain in Vicenza and Verona, podestà in Brescia and procurator of S. Marco de ultra since 15 November 1763.

He was convinced and authorised to abdicate: on 12 May 1797 he presented the part containing the abdication of the aristocracy in favour of democracy for the supreme good of the fatherland to the Great Council.
