Antonio Grimani was the 76th Doge of the Serenissima (1521-1523).

From the stable to the stars, only those who fall can rise again. This is the story of Antonio, commander of the Venetian fleet defeated by the Turks in the naval battle of Zonchio (1499) and sentenced to death.

Perhaps through the intercession of his son Domenico, a cardinal in Rome, the death sentence was commuted to life imprisonment on the island of Cres.

From here Antony managed to escape after only two years and took refuge in Rome with his son; later, when the Republic was threatened by the League of Cambrai, Antony did everything in his power to dissuade P
