Son of Doge Giovanni I (1625-1629).
He was 71 years old (he was born in 1585).
His was by far the shortest dogado in the history of the Serenissima Republic, beating the record held by Nicolò Donà (1618) who had been doge for 35 days.
Francesco Corner died only 19 days after his election and was buried in the Tolentini Church (S. Croce).
A portrait of him, painted by Joseph Heintz, is in the Doge's Palace.
