Alvise Pisani was the 114th Doge of the Serenissima (17 January 1735 - 17 June 1741).

He was 71 years old (born on the the 1st of January 1664) and belonged to the Pisani di Santo Stefano family, a cadet branch of the family of the same name. He had experienced all the stages of the Venetian cursus honorum: Savi agli ordini, advisor to the Doge, ambassador to France.To celebrate his election, the family commissioned Girolamo Frigimelica to build Villa Pisani in the Stra countryside (1736-1756), but the project was abandoned due to exorbitant costs, only to be resumed and completed a few years later by Francesco Maria Preti.
