He was 60 years old (born on the 29th of August 1662), never married and was considered the hero of Dalmatia for his valour in the conquest of the Turkish fortress of Imoschi (1717), but in fact, as Doge, he was one of the continuers of the policy of unarmed neutrality proclaimed by the Republic in the event of armed conflicts.During his Doge's dogato, the pavement of of St Mark's Square was no longer paved with bricks but with trachyte slabs and the Bucintoro was reconstructed (1728).
