Imagine the joy and wonder of walking out of the church and finding yourself on the main Venetian waterway: one of the few places of worship to have such an honour.
If you want a nice souvenir photo, I recommend you take it from the vaporetto, whose stop is right in front. Only in this way will you be able to immortalise it in all its beauty and grandeur.
The only way to do so is to take a picture of it from the waterbus.

The exact origins of the church of San Stae, in Italian Sant'Eustachio are not known, but it seems that it already existed in the 12th century. Eustachio - hunter - lived between the 1st and 2nd centuries and, under Trajan, converted to Christianity after the dreamlike vision of a deer which contained an illuminated cross between its powerful horns. He denied the sacrifice to the Gods and for this he was martyred together with his wife Theopist and his children; they are said to have been locked inside a large fiery bronze bull.
