Andrea Contarini was the 60th Doge of the Serenissima (1368-1382).

He was 68 years old (born in 1300), had been a ducal councillor in two separate periods and procurator of S. Marco de citra (3rd of June 1352).Doge Andrea Contarini was the victor of the War of Chioggia (1379-1381) and consecrated the Republic as ruler of the seas.His private life was as turbulent as his public one.
