He was 66 years old (he was born on 4 February 1696) and had been procurator of St. Mark de supra since 3 July 1741.
He died at the end of a long illness that struck him after his election and was buried in the Church of S. Stae.
A man of letters and uncommon ingenuity, he is celebrated in the Veneto Pantheon with a bust by sculptor Luigi Minisini in the Doge's Palace.
The Liceo Marco Foscarini was dedicated to him.
