He was 69 years old and belonged to the branch of the family that had the baroque palace on the Grand Canal, Ca' Pesaro, built by Longhena between 1679 and 1718.

Already ambassador in Avignon to Pope Clement V first and John XXII later, he was the architect of the withdrawal of the interdict against the Republic (1311).

Also known as Flabiano or Flabianico. He was a tribune, considered responsible for the popular uprisings against the doge Ottone Orseolo.
