The Fondamenta Nuove Theater is a private space, located at the end of the homonymous Venetian foundation. It is a multidisciplinary space, dedicated to contemporary productions and shows: prose, but also dance performances, multimedia shows and concerts. The exhibition offers various artistic genres of a contemporary nature from jazz to avant-garde rock, from electronic to musical theater, from performance to dance, from video to theatrical experimentation, often investigating the relationships with other disciplines and multimedia.

Managed since 2003 by the Vortice Association, the space has an important role in the Venetian cultural landscape, thanks to its particular offer and the contemporaneity of its productions. In netwroking with numerous local realities, the theater also hosts seminars, conferences, workshops and is supported by the Department of Cultural Activities of the City of Venice and the Department of Culture of the Province of Venice.

Among the numerous personalities who took the stage of the Fondamenta Nuove Theater we mention Uri Caine and Virgilio Sieni, Bjork and Romeo Castellucci, the Matmos and Teatrino Clandestino, William Parker and Babilonia Teatri, the Mouse on Mars and Barcelò.
