According to some sources, the building was built by Jacopo Corner dal Banco, Donato's son, but over the centuries it underwent numerous restorations. In particular, in the mid-fifteenth century, the typical features of the flowery Gothic architectural style were defined on the first floor, whose multi-lancet window is decorated with quadrilobes and a balcony and echoes the unmistakable style used for the Doge's Palace.
