It rises in one of the most remote and solitary places on the island of Giudecca, between the church of Santa Eufemia and the southern lagoon. A visit to the area allows one to relive, with a hint of nostalgia, the heyday of the entire monastic complex.
Today, the spaces of the church are used to host business incubators, facilities dedicated to new enterprises.

The convent, the part of the complex to be built first, was built towards the end of the 15th century at the behest of the Benedictine nun of the noble family Marina Celsi, former abbess of the monastery of Sant'Eufemia on the island of Mazzorbo. Her plan was to build a community of women only and strictly observant; the place, a brick house with a vegetable garden and a well, was donated to Marina by a widow from Giudecca who had a vision of the Lord who showed her how to deal with this construction.
