It was originally a church dedicated to Santa Margherita, then turned into a cinema and finally became an Auditorium, one of the premises of Ca' Foscari University.
The building is not open to the public only on the occasion of important conferences organised by the Venetian university. An excellent opportunity to broaden one's knowledge and take a peek inside.

Once used as a cinema, the Santa Margherita auditorium is now one of the headquarters of the Ca 'Foscari University, acquired in 1987. In this space, which seats up to 237 people, important conferences and university events are organized.

The building is an ancient deconsecrated church, the Church of Santa Margherita, whose origins date back to the 9th century AD, renowned for its domed chapel decorated with Byzantine mosaics. According to tradition, the Church was founded in 837 by Geniano Busignacco under the doge of Pietro Tradonico and consecrated in 853 by the Bishop of Cas
