The bell tower of the Church of Sant'Agnese.

Scholars are divided between those who believe it was built in the 10th and those who believe it was built in the 11th century, just as unknown is which family, between Melini and Molin, it was erected.
The church, located inside the Zattere in a graceful field of the same name near the Church of the Gesuati, is bare with a brick façade and wooden beams.

Its construction date is uncertain, even if very ancient, some place it at the end of the 10th century while others make it belong to the following century. Its first rebuilding dates back to the early twelfth century following a devastating fire that destroyed it; on this occasion, it assumed the typical Venetian-Byzantine structure characterized by a basilica plan with three naves.

Over the centuries, the place of worship underwent numerous alterations, albeit partial, and in particular the interventions carried out in the twentieth century completely distorted the interior; o
