A lover and scholar of things Venetian, writer, publisher, publicist journalist and organist, Eugenio Vittoria did his utmost to disseminate Venetian history and customs, also as a resource against Venice's declining population. This is why he considered it his mission to publish popular and non-specialist works.

Eugenio Vittoria was born in Venice on 18 March 1918. A magistral school graduate, he furthered his studies in Greek and Latin. Inclined towards music, he studied various instruments, playing trombone in the school band and then specialising in piano and organ. While finishing his military service, World War II broke out and he was forced to remain in the army until the end of the conflict, where he avoided extremis being sent to Russia.
