The name Costantino Reyer is inextricably linked to the sports club, active since 1872, which won the Italian basketball championship in 2017 and 2019.
A man of culture and heart who gave much to the world of sport and social work.

Costantino was born on 1 February 1838 in Trieste. His father Alfred Philip is an officer in the Hapsburg army, his mother, Leopoldina Castagna, has noble Roman ancestry; one of her ancestors is Giovan Battista Castagna, who became Pope Urban VII at the end of the 16th century. Costantino has a brother, Emilio, a lawyer in Trieste, and a sister, Leopoldina, later married Mensi, in Venice. He studied at the Liceo Classico in Trieste; from 1856 to 1861 he was employed in the family firm the Reyer&Slick (maritime services), founded by Franz Thaddeus Reyer and run by Costantino's uncles, Franc
