Andrea Vendramin was the 71st Doge of the Serenissima (1476-1478).

He was 83 years old (born in 1393) and had been procurator of St. Mark de citra since the 19th of June 1467.After his election, during his 'giro in pozzetto' in St. Mark's Square, the new Doge distributed gold coins instead of silver ones, and was generous and munificent with all the needy during his short dogate. For this he received official recognition from Pope Sixtus IV, who, for his goodness of spirit, bestowed upon him the Golden Rose, later deposited in St. Mark's Treasury.He was married to Regina Gradenigo, who gave him 12 children (6 boys and 6 girls).He was buried in the Chiesa dei
