The name 'Costantino Reyer' is also known today in theVenetian sporting environment, particularly in basketball.

The team of the club named after him won the Italian championship in 2017 and in 2019, and took part in the Final Four of the Basketball Champions League in Europe; the 'Costantino Reyer' club, active since 1872, has promoted, over time, various sports disciplines, starting with gymnastics.

His eclectic figure well represents the sensibilities and constant commitment to social issues of an ante litteram European citizen who lived between the 19th and 20th centuries.

Gymnasiarch, innovator in modern sporting concepts, civically engaged on many fronts: scholar of a 'unique' language that anticipated Esperanto, inventor of a method that simplified the study of Greek and Latin, creator of the volunteer fire brigade and first aid societies, promoter of countless initiatives for the foundation of gymnastics societies and associations for the protection of physical education teachers, manager of the German and Austrian Gymnastics Federation as well as many Italian sports clubs, founder and owner of newspapers where - among many ideas and ahead of his time - he put forward a proposal for a European parliament.

Aman of the world and culture: he spoke German, Italian, French and English fluently, was a chess player and passionate mountaineer.
