Built in the nineteenth century at the behest of Giovanni Stucky, entrepreneur and financier of a noble Swiss family. The owner's intention was to build a mill that would exploit the Venetian canal to transport grain quickly to the island of Giudecca; this building gave work, at full capacity, to more than 1500 workers and was able to grind, in the period of greatest efficiency, more than two thousand quintals of flour a day.
