Known as the church of the Tolentini, it was designed in 1591 by Vincenzo Scamozzi at the behest of the Order of Regular Theatine Clerics but after a few years from the start of the works, due to too great economic demands, the collaboration with Scamozzi ended and the building was however made by the religious.
The consecration took place on October 20, 1602 by the patriarch Matteo Zane.
The temple consists of a Latin cross plan, a rectangular presbytery and a choir positioned behind the high altar built in 1661 by Baldassarre Longhena with the monument in memory
