Luisa Baccara was born in Venice on 14 January 1892 into a wealthy and art-loving family: her father was a reserve colonel, her mother was a very beautiful, dark-haired and vivacious woman; her sister Jolanda, a few years younger, was to become a violinist.Luisa studied piano at the Conservatorio Benedetto Marcello and began giving concerts in various cities in Italy and also abroad.
