Giuliana was a much-loved abbess, both by her sisters and by the people, because of her deep desire for moral and religious perfection. She lived a simple and humble life, with a marked spirit of charity towards the poor.
In memory of the nun, at Sacca Fisola the entire fondamenta overlooking the Giudecca Canal is dedicated to Beata Giovanna.

Giuliana di Collalto was born during the year 1186 in the feudal Castle of San Salvatore at Susegana, daughter of the noble Collalto family, owners of the Castles of Collalto and San Salvatore. Raised according to a strict religious upbringing, at the age of 10 Giuliana consecrated her life to God, first entering the Monastery of Santa Margherita di Salarola, in the Euganean Hills in the province of Padua, then the Monastery of Gemola, where she also met the other noblewoman from the Veneto region who went down in history for her Christian works: Beatrice D'Este.Her life as a nun was completel
