Dogana da Mar abandons its commercial function to become the ideal venue for a contemporary art gallery.
This is the successful project implemented by the François Pinault Foundation to share its President's interesting collection with the world.

In 2007 Palazzo Grassi won the competition held by the city of Venice for the creation of a new contemporary art center at Punta della Dogana. The following year, restoration work began on the area under the direction of the Japanese architect Tadao Ando, who was already director of the restoration of Palazzo Grassi in 2005.
