The church and its convent dedicated to San Bonaventura were built in the seventeenth century in Cannaregio in the portion of land where the shooting range stood, in the northernmost tip of the sestiere, in front of the area known under the name of "Chioverete" and in the close to the convent of Sant'Alvise.
