The church was founded by a group of nuns of the Capuchin order, who obtained permission to settle in a building on the ancient foundations of the Cross, later called the Capuchins. It all began with Angela Crasso who, feeling that she was ready for the cloistered life, together with one of her companions, withdrew to a house near the oratory of the Fava. As the number of disciples increased, they moved to "l'Ospedaletto" at SS.
