Borges is a metaphysical and labyrinthine universe, infinite and indefinite. Thin boundaries between reality and dream, where illusion becomes literature, through a narrative that is never linear, never banal, but circular, oblique, collateral, symmetrical and at the same time bizarre. A relationship with Venice that led him to dedicate the piece 'Venecia' to it, describing it as 'de cristal y crepúsculo' and that is witnessed by a labyrinth dedicated to him on the island of San Giorgio Maggiore.

Jorge Francisco Isidoro Luis Borges Acevedo was born on 24 August 1899 at 8 p.m. in a house on Calle Tucumán, Buenos Aires. His father, Jorge Guillermo Borges, was a Spencerian lawyer and philosopher with literary aspirations. His mother, Leonor Rita Acevedo Suárez was one of the key figures in the writer's life.
