A journey into the present and past of the Ghetto of Venice

We’ll start at Campo San Marcuola, introducing the history of Jewish in Venice, in front of the Fontego dei Turchi. Then we’ll go inside the Ghetto of Venice, to discover the 5 sinagogues, the amazing big field of the Ghetto Novo, one of the ancient entrance of the Ghetto and last but not least, the memorial and the sculptures by Arbit Blatas.

What does it mean the word ghetto exactly? What is the history of the Ghetto itself and about the jewish inside it?

Inside the Ghetto Novo

Discovering the Ghetto Novo big field, its houses and their curiosities. Plus the first two synagogues (German and Italian) and the Banco Rosso.

Between the new and the old

At the bridge between the old Ghetto (Vecchio) and the new Ghetto (Novo) we'll learn why there are three Ghettos (the old, the new and the brand new, called Novissimo) and, of course, the history about them.
