Venipedia is the result of an intense and constant daily work of continuous improvement. Also in sustainability.
We get this result by working on several fronts:
- Constantly optimizing the platform and periodically updating the infrastructure
- Using renewable energy in our offices and optimizing them
- Adhering to reforestation programs to offset the CO2 carbon footprint generated by traffic
Platform and infrastructure
Optimizing the platform means less power required for our servers, your computer, your smartphone and your tablet. This means less energy consumption of our infrastructure, your electricity network and lower battery consumption of your devices. This means a site that is faster and more pleasant to consult, but also a site that pollutes less.
Renewable energy, less plastic and conscious office management
From January 1st, 2014, our offices and internal web servers are powered by 100% green energy from a certified renewable sources.
We make informed choices so that the energy demand is always lower, for example through intelligent devices for managing the internal data network, through the use of devices with low radiation emissions (wi-fi, cordless, etc.) or through the replacement of the LED lighting and other low-power systems.
Plus, we substituted our computers to ones with aluminium case and more sustainable materials, concretely reducing plastic.
We are part of the Zero Impact Web® project to play our part in combating global warming.
This means that the emissions from your visits will also be offset through the creation and protection of growing forests. It is a small action, and others will be necessary, but if it is done by many it helps to create awareness and do good to the environment, to ourselves and to the future.
